Shyla Saturday

Shyla has a new nickname: "The Chokecherry Queen".  This week, both pups discovered that they like chokecherries. Hachi was the first to discover them, eating bunches at a time. Shyla observed him gobbling the cherries, and she tried them. Now, she's obsessed with them - to the point of preferring to gorge on chokecherries rather than going for a hike!

The one thing that she'll ignore the chokecherries for is to cover my back when I'm photographing tiny flowers and autumn leaves.

And she adores being my photography model.

She's my best friend. Happy Shyla Saturday.

    1. I had no idea (this just started the other day) and she's fine. We'll have to stop her from eating them right away! Thank you!

  6. Shyla is the best dog model I've ever seen. Mine leave the room when the camera comes out or the phone is aimed in their direction.

  9. All my schnauzers have loved to have their pics taken. My first one actually used to get mad if I took someone else's picture and not hers. Never heard of chokecherries. I'll have to look that up.

  10. Well, just read about them, and it said that cooking the fruit will rid them of the cyanide.

  12. We have chokecherries in our yard but none of our dogs have ever been interested in them. That is a beautiful flower picture and of course Shyla is a beauty too.

  13. This post reminds me of our dogs eating the wild blackberries that grow along the edge of our property. I just let them gorge themselves on them too - they're full of antioxidants, so why not? The post also reminds me of how much I love the companionship of a "canine sister." ❤❤
