    I'm no expert so I won't venture a guess. Certainly could be a coyote/large dog hybrid possibly.

    I am not an expert either. It looks like a wolf or a hybrid, but not a coyote.

    I'm leaning toward wolf, from the behavior. The startle, the going off-trail after the startle - doesn't look like dog behavior, unless there's a feral malamute roaming out there. Chris from Boise
