A Moose Trio Play like Kids in a Pond

During a hot spell, a trio of moose who have been traveling together played in a pond.

They swam  a lot!!!

I couldn't capture it in still photos but they didn't just swim - they played and frolicked.

I did make a video of their pond play which you can watch here or at Youtube. They splashed and galloped and seemed to purposely hit the water surface with their hooves - making big splashes! Enjoy!


P.S. My posts may be erratic over the coming weeks. Please don't worry about me if this site is quiet. I will get back to my usual schedule before too long!

    yes... like kids... and they enjoy summer the same way... oh to be a kid again... or a moose ;O)

    What a great video! They sure are powerful swimmers! I wonder if the one moose did the "shake shake shake" right by the camera on purpose? ...not that I'd do something like that.

    I am thinking the cow is giving them the come on over big boy splash... she made me laugh a couple of times, I bet that water feels so good. your camera is so good I can count the splash drops and I even see bugs flying around over the water. it is so peaceful there.

    This is so funny, those huge moose, swimming and playing so easily.I wonder if their feet can touch the bottom.Then leaping right up, what a fun capture.

    That was one of the best wildlife videos I have ever seen. Because it was so unexpected, I think. These huge animals playing like kids in a pond. Congrats on a great capture.
