We took a break from the Colorado mountain "spring-time", heading west as more snow was falling at our house. When we arrived at the edge of the desert, we heard that mountain passes were closing behind us due to snow.
Our adventure was warm, relaxing, fun, and full of paws running on the desert floor.
Some days had clear blue skies surrounding the copper-colored rocks of the desert. We lazed around in the sunshine.
Shyla's fur shined in the setting sun and the red rocks.
We're back now, and spring has sprung here in the mountains. The Columbines are sprouting as tiny nascent green plants, and the bears are dancing as some food has finally begun to grow for them. What a wonderful time of year!
Love Shyla's picture!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great time of year. Things seem to grow overnight. So much to see.

Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteYou captured the amazing colors of the deseret so beautifully.
Shyla must have had so much fun exploring every rock, to stand on.
Glad you could get away and breath the fresh air and ride with the wind.

Love, love, love the desert!!!! Welcome back!!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
I was hoping that your somewhat extended absence meant you all were off relaxing and taking a break from your extended winter. Shyla against the red rocks is always so beautiful, and I love the dirt and wear visible on the lined-up doggy boots -- it shows how much fun Shyla and R had on their vacation as well as the humans! It's great to have you back, too; I've missed your beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteFrom the looks of things, you couldn't have picked a lovelier place to visit! Can't wait to see more pictures.
ReplyDeleteKB, So glad you had some time in the warm dessert sun! I know that it refreshes you and brings you peace.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back; may the snow stay away until next winter and the sun warm our days.
Hugs, Noreen
How great for all of you! We're jealous, we'd love to visit the desert. So glad you're back and we're wondering if you still have snow.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a fantastic way to recharge your batteries and escape the snow! I love that shot of Shyla!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the boots made my laugh :) Glad you had such a nice time - refreshment comes in many forms, but most of them (in my life anyway) involve being outdoors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful desert photos.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you had a good time.
