We made it. K ran all the way to a spot where we love to gaze at the morning light on the mountains. The last time that she stood on this mini-arch was 7 months ago, the day before her toe situation made running impossible. On that day, I had no idea that K wouldn't be able to run that far again for a long long time. I also had no clue that she'd end up losing a toe to a nasty infection. But, that's behind us now.
On our way there, we had some wildlife peeping at us.Near the end of our ride, K's eyes glowed with happiness. My eyes glowed too but they're not as stunning as K's eyes!
A day to savor...
We are savouring it from here!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Love the shot of K's eye. Kind of looks like a flower.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of K on the arch! She just looks so regal and majestic. I hope we'll see lots more of K getting back to her favorite haunts! :)
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of looking at K's eyes!
It was unseasonably warm for us on Sunday -- in the mid-eighties, which is what made getting in the water possible for all of us. The body part washing up is sad, but if it's who they're talking about, I will be happy for her family to finally know about her and stop wondering. It's been a statewide mystery for a while now.
Those pictures are absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing them!! Lots of love, Holly and mom
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteHurray for K!
ReplyDeleteLicks,
Ruthie
K's eye is remarkable...starlike! I must look at Sophie's to see if she has a similar design.
ReplyDeleteThat is seeing eye to eye! They make great decorations on the rock.

Indeed it is a very special day. I can't tell you how happy I am that this milestone has been reached. It warms my heart.
ReplyDeleteWe all remember so very well that it wasn't too long ago that we all worried about K's future on your trails. She has the same courage and perseverance and strength as her best friend - you. We are overjoyed for both of you
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making it! yay!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember first reading about K's toe and my heart breaking for you and her, I am so glad the way things have turned out for you both!
She does have the most beautiful eyes! So happy for you both!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
K looked so grand and regal up on her perch that she hasn't been on for a time. Its all just wonderful that she "made it", with you at her side.
ReplyDeleteWill she require check ups to see if the infection is staying away?
Good luck, K, we will always root for you.
Kisses,
Stella
