Photo Wednesday: Top of the world to the valley floor

One day in Moab, we were on top of the world in the morning.

We were on the valley floor below the cliff for sunset. In the desert, sunset is a magical hour that paints the rock cliffs in mystical purple and gold hues.

Magic.

  1. Beautiful photos. We sleep too late to enjoy the morning colors on the sandstone. The photo of K against the landscape is wonderful. Use that one for a calendar photo.

Which brings up a point, when are you doing your 2012 calendar? You have the photos for it!

  3. Nothing beats a desert sunset. Except a full moon...and maybe a sunrise...

  4. We passed each other several times this trip. Wish I had known! We could have shot a sunrise or sunset together!

Love those photos of Castle Valley. The photo of K with the Titan is out of this world!

  7. Even more fantastic photos! I knew you'd have a ton of them. That's a place I've wanted to visit for a long time, and now I'm practically drooling!

Don't worry about keeping up or making the rounds! Just do what you want when you can. I'm having a hard time myself right now. For about two hours when I get home, I'm busy entertaining the puppy until hubby gets home to entertain the little guy. I realized that I don't want to miss taking time to enjoy him while he's a cute little fuzzball, either! He's already growing like crazy! And sadly, I got the puppy who is not deterred by Bitter Apple, but instead thinks it tastes great!

  8. We just caught up with your last couple of posts. We're keeping our paws crossed for the best possible outcome for your medical issues. Mama has survived 2 bouts with cancer and she's still here. We're pretty sure you're even more resilient than mama. Please keep us posted.

Happy Belated Birthday to K! She and Abby are about the same age. Abby's is a guess, of course, as she was at least a year old when mama rescued her.

  16. There is not a day that we forget to be grateful for our glorious sunsets. Even at our lower altitude the Sandias glow like watermelons on fire within during that magic time. We understand.
