We focused our day on a major holiday, National Napping Day. First, we earned our naps. K and I hiked to Hug Hill.
She ran around, playing like a puppy on the peak.
And, when we returned home, she had her first nap of the day.
After that first nap, we eventually headed out for our sunset hike, where the Duo again worked to earn their naps. K galloped in the glow of the setting sun.
R napped on the job. I called the Duo to me, but R was distracted and let K get the jump on him.
But, R did his share of romping in the golden light to earn his nap.
He is a very cute napper, don't you think?
Happy National Napping Day! I hope that you all celebrated in style!
Every day is national nap day to me! I love that last picture of R napping. He is adorable!

I had no idea there was a national napping day. You are so right, that last picture of R sleeping is so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSeriously....when are you going to do a book of Lab photos.
No idea there was such a day! R is so cute!
ReplyDeleteDachshund Nola
Happy Napping Day!!!! No one told me about this day. Napping just happens to be one of my special talents!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
National Napping Day exists ? R looks adorable as a napper!
ReplyDeleteNational Napping Day? You should have warned us earlier.... Then I could have stayed in bed all day ~ That would have been awesome.
ReplyDeleteAfter your hike's today, I agree, a nap is in order.
Great picture of R!!
Hugs,
Lily Belle
Your right, R is a beautiful napper!
ReplyDeleteAnd K deserves her naps too after all that romping around!

The Greyhounds are professional nappers! lol I celebrated by sleeping until 11:00, but I'm not sure it helped me much.
ReplyDeleteR might be the cutest napper I've seen! That picture just melted me!
Very cute!!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I had no idea that was today! Think we could do it again tomorrow? I'm sure I can get in a nap in then!
ReplyDeleteWe will have to celebrate extra on thurs (my day off) for missing today's festivities! Those are some adorable pics - esp that one of R!
ReplyDeleteNational Napping Day! I wish I'd've known! I'll have to mark my calendar for next year.
ReplyDeleteNapping Day!! I had no idea. I better put it on the calendar for next year. Or make up for it tomorrow. R is indeed a very cute napper.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Happy Napping Day! You all earned sweet dream filled rests. Napping was a topic at the White Dog Ranch as well...but for a different reason.
ReplyDeleteCrikey...we didn't know about National Napping Day! R is definitely a cute sleeper. Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteJust fabulous shots of K an R hiking.
We're with Bert..you need to do a book!

The Thugletsx
We just learned of this!! Maybe tomorrow...heehee!
ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
:-) Qute napping photos!!
ReplyDeleteThey could both be the poster faces for Nap Day. I love the close ups, what beautiful faces. Sasha seems to think everyday is Napping Day lol.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
Sleeping dog photos - wonderful. Makes you think that every day should be a National Napping Day. Come to think of it in some households it already is !
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know about National Napping Day. I'll be celebrating it for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou guys have definitely earned your naps!
Love ya lots,
Mitch
Hehehehehe...R looks so freakin' SWEET in dat foto withs his paws up.
ReplyDeleteNow, I was not awares of National Napping Day but I do believes K and R deserved every nap they had, heck, I was tired from watchin' them run and romp.
They always look so beautifuls in dat golden light.
Puddles
The Herd says every day is a napping and celebrate them with enthusiasm (yes, you can nap enthusiastically). It is we humans that need to learn the sheer joy of a daytime nap.
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteR is a cute napper...I'm a light sleeper and my Human can't seem to catch me with my eyes closed. It's cool you caught them both napping.
K has great expression, but R has her beat! My Human said she's never seen a Lab with so much expression. Look at the teeth and grin in the photo of him running to you.
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I like R's big paws! :-)
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
What beautiful colors in these pictures! K and R napping are just adorable!!
ReplyDeleteWait a minute here, just lets talk about this. EARN A NAP? Thats an expression I have never heard before and further, the day is not long enough for me to Earn a Nap and then Get the Nap In.
ReplyDeleteNaps are Free, you just help yourself when you feel one coming on and no worry about earning anything! Puleeeze!
Kisses,
A shocked Stella
National Napping Day?! Finally a holiday I can get behind with all four paws! Whoo, I'm off to celebrate now!
ReplyDeleteR is indeed a cute napper. You're lucky. When I point the camera at a napping Lilly, she ALWAYS wakes up. ** Thanks for keeping me company by phone while I made dinner. Sorry I delayed your evening hike.
ReplyDeleteI think the 4th photo of K is one of my very favorites...she's SO focused
ReplyDeleteThe pups here seem to think that every day is National Napping Day! How we love that last shot of R:)
ReplyDeleteAfter catching up on a week or more of your lovely pics, I once again chastise myself for not making your blog a priority. (something about getting a paycheck is what usually gets in the way along with playtime with my own Chocolate). Anyway, as usual the pics are outstanding but the one with K laying in the kinnikinnick patch is so peaceful and is probably this weeks fav. Of course the frozen fog on the trees was a beautiful sight to see also.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you've heard anything about camel's milk and cancer but an article in the Dec/Jan "Animal Wellness" magazine - Vol. 13 Issue 6 - speaks of it as a highly nutritious food being used as a healing therapy for dogs. It's supposed to enhance chemo treatment while reducing the negative side effects. Just thought you might be interested in it if you haven't heard about it yet. I thought of K as soon as I saw it. I'm hoping the impending test results are good ones!
Chester's Mom ;0=)
Cannot celebrate napping or no sleep at night! K looks so wonderfully glossy and bright-eyed!
ReplyDeleteCannot celebrate napping or no sleep at night! K looks so wonderfully glossy and bright-eyed!
ReplyDeleteLook at that face! Well deserved nap, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteDang! I missed it. Fortunately our dogs must have gotten the word because they did their share of napping.
ReplyDeleteLovely Labs, active or napping.
No one warned us ahead of time about National Napping Day. We slept right through it. Maybe next year we will celebrate it in style.
ReplyDeleteMogley G. Retriever
!I didn't know it was National Napping Day, but it's pretty funny that everybody in my office was complaining today that we needed a nap! More than usual, even!
ReplyDeleteWe're big fans of napping here. Looks like K and R know how it's done!
ReplyDeleteI've got to admit both Kirra and I are guilty of such a nap (after our walks).
ReplyDeleteK&R look so wonderful deep within the snooze - pleasant dreams.
