Happy National Napping Day

We focused our day on a major holiday, National Napping Day. First, we earned our naps. K and I hiked to Hug Hill.
She ran around, playing like a puppy on the peak.
And, when we returned home, she had her first nap of the day.
After that first nap, we eventually headed out for our sunset hike, where the Duo again worked to earn their naps. K galloped in the glow of the setting sun.
R napped on the job. I called the Duo to me, but R was distracted and let K get the jump on him.
But, R did his share of romping in the golden light to earn his nap.
He is a very cute napper, don't you think?
Happy National Napping Day! I hope that you all celebrated in style!

  6. National Napping Day? You should have warned us earlier.... Then I could have stayed in bed all day ~ That would have been awesome.

  8. The Greyhounds are professional nappers! lol I celebrated by sleeping until 11:00, but I'm not sure it helped me much.

R might be the cutest napper I've seen! That picture just melted me!

  20. The Herd says every day is a napping and celebrate them with enthusiasm (yes, you can nap enthusiastically). It is we humans that need to learn the sheer joy of a daytime nap.

  21. Hi Y'all,

R is a cute napper...I'm a light sleeper and my Human can't seem to catch me with my eyes closed. It's cool you caught them both napping.

K has great expression, but R has her beat! My Human said she's never seen a Lab with so much expression. Look at the teeth and grin in the photo of him running to you.

    Y'all come by now,

  24. Wait a minute here, just lets talk about this. EARN A NAP? Thats an expression I have never heard before and further, the day is not long enough for me to Earn a Nap and then Get the Nap In.

Naps are Free, you just help yourself when you feel one coming on and no worry about earning anything! Puleeeze!

    Kisses,

    A shocked Stella

  26. R is indeed a cute napper. You're lucky. When I point the camera at a napping Lilly, she ALWAYS wakes up. ** Thanks for keeping me company by phone while I made dinner. Sorry I delayed your evening hike.

  29. After catching up on a week or more of your lovely pics, I once again chastise myself for not making your blog a priority. (something about getting a paycheck is what usually gets in the way along with playtime with my own Chocolate). Anyway, as usual the pics are outstanding but the one with K laying in the kinnikinnick patch is so peaceful and is probably this weeks fav. Of course the frozen fog on the trees was a beautiful sight to see also.

I don't know if you've heard anything about camel's milk and cancer but an article in the Dec/Jan "Animal Wellness" magazine - Vol. 13 Issue 6 - speaks of it as a highly nutritious food being used as a healing therapy for dogs. It's supposed to enhance chemo treatment while reducing the negative side effects. Just thought you might be interested in it if you haven't heard about it yet. I thought of K as soon as I saw it. I'm hoping the impending test results are good ones!

  33. Dang! I missed it. Fortunately our dogs must have gotten the word because they did their share of napping.

    Lovely Labs, active or napping.

  34. No one warned us ahead of time about National Napping Day. We slept right through it. Maybe next year we will celebrate it in style.
