Monday Mischief

In a race, R has learned to use his wisdom to beat Shyla. He immediately cuts in front of her, and then blocks her from coming by. Despite Shyla's faster top speed, his technique works very frequently! You can see it in this photo.
Shyla's big brother still knows some tricks that she doesn't know!

  1. LOL! There's no substitute for experience!

  2. Ah Yes,

Soon enough she will learn this trick and be blocking him in return.
Let's see who gets there first then. Shyla is smart enough to
    figure it out.

It's fun to watch the competition, I bet you were laughing....
    Have a FUN DAY.

  3. Hi Y'all!

    Oh too funny! The expressions!

    Y'all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  4. My Jake also had a very subtle almost imperceptible swivel of his hip that kept his brother, Just Harry, in line. Gotta' love those street smarts!!!

    Joan and Just Harry

  5. You and I both know that we girls are smarter than the boys, don't we, Shyla. You're sweet for letting R win *wink wink*

    Love ya lots♥

  6. Haha, Nola does the same thing! That, or jumps over the other dog.

  7. Off topic, but please consider entering one or both of your dogs in the Orvis cover dog contest: You have so many stunning photos of them!

  8. Technique is everything.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  9. I think he's going to need a lot of tricks through the years! lol

  10. Strategy, she looks bemused, as though this wasn't what she had expected. Super photo, as always. Cheers from Jean

  11. I bet she figures it out though. She's too smart to be out dine like that.

  12. I don't like to see Shyla getting the best of R., but can certainly see it coming. Maybe he will come up with some new tricks, too!

  13. Ha! Clever boyo!
One of my Irish Wolfhounds would pretend to see something out the window, so the younger one would come over to see what was so interesting.
Thus leaving the big dog bed free...but not for long!

  14. You sure are a smart boy R. When I'm chasing my brother I like to hang back and then cut off his route to catch up to him.

  15. HA! Brains definitely won over brawn in this case.

  16. Mine do the very same thing!! Too funny!!

  17. Love seeing one out think the other...our Sibes were that way! Good memories.. Your photo and post reminded me of them.

  18. All is fair . . . When you are racing a faster dog.

  19. BOL!!! Don't worry Shyla, you'll get the jump on him and beat him real soon!!! Gurls Rule, Boys Drool!!
    Ruby ♥

  20. So funny to see big brother beating Shyla. Our snow has finally melted and the sun is warm-so very nice.
From my home and heart to you and yours, Happy Thanksgiving dear friend.

  21. Wise R! Keeping Shyla on her toes!

  22. Great photo! Sibling rivalry. It won't be long until Shyla figures out a way to get back at him.

  23. I'd love for my granddog to run with your dogs. He would be most happy.

  24. Oh, aren't big brothers just the BEST!?!?
    Yours sincerely,
    Margaret Thatcher

  25. How fun they have. What a couple!
    Great capture

  26. Sometimes I think we can learn more from our animals than they can learn from us. R's one smart dog!

  27. Love these two so much! :-)

  28. Happy Thanksgiving. Hope Shyla and Rono are everything you ever wanted and give you and Runner "Peace & Comfort". They are beautiful from the inside out.
