Today, I must break from our weekly schedule to bring you the news from our neck of the woods in the Colorado Rockies.
Our young dog has taken on the role as the local groundhog.
He saw his shadow this morning. That means that we can expect 16 more weeks of winter.
It is very common that we get a huge snow storm in mid-May. This year, we were counting on young Hachi to let us know whether we will get one this year. Clearly, we will.
Thanks to Hachi for playing this vital role in our weather forecasting.
We will return to our regular schedule soon. We know that you need your fix of our sweet Black Dog!

I much prefer GroundHachi over Phil... so handsome and that shadow is hilarious... love the photo and the pup. sorry about the 16 weeks ahead.
ReplyDeleteHachi did a great job as a substitute groundhog but we think 16 weeks is a bit much. Of course we also can still see snow into May but we don't get storms with inches of snow but just a dusting.
ReplyDeleteBravo Hachi, you did wonderful...but please keep the winter at your place!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job, Hachi! Our Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog predicted an early spring for us. We shall see.
ReplyDeletePlease Hachi, can you arrange for us a proper snowy winter? Here in Scotland all we have is interminable dampness...
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.

ReplyDeleteI second Bertie's request!!! Hehehe... lovely interim broadcast. Love to all up on the mountains. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Thanks Hachi well done on your handsome self and shadow. Hugs to the sibs and the staff

He does look as if he's wondering just who that 'other dog' is.
ReplyDeleteToo cute!
ReplyDeleteScorching HOT everywhere down here, up to 34Celsius in some places, one city had a record high since records began. Love the shadow, roll on summer for all you northerners.
ReplyDeleteWe think Hachi Day would be a lot more fun.
ReplyDeleteLOL - too funny! My Ft. Collins brother reports 70 degrees today, predicted to drop to 20 degree high tomorrow. Hang tight!
ReplyDeleteBy happenstance, in addition to GroundHachi Day, it's Superb Owl Sunday, with a superb set of photos in the Atlantic Magazine: https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2020/02/photos-superb-owl-sunday-iv/605854/
Cheers,
Chris from Boise
And - this just in - Palindrome Day too: 02/02/2020!
ReplyDeleteOkay we got a question.
ReplyDelete16 more weeks of winter???
Please say that's not true.

Astro and Mitzie
16 more weeks, say it isn't so Hachi!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Hachi! Though we have to maybe hope you are only as reliable as the weather people, and maybe it will be a little less than that? LOL
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
But with Phil, we only get SIX more weeks of winter! Actually, we haven't really had much of any winter this year. The insects are going to be really, really bad.
ReplyDeleteI think your Hachi boy is probably more accurate than the PA rodent.
