Almost Wordless Wednesday - From High in the San Juan Mountains

From our visit to southwestern Colorado... In the first one, notice the "layer cake" mountain on the left of the image.

This photo is from the base of that mountain. You can see the same layers. And I was overjoyed to find some flowers blooming there!

  4. Wild flowers, they have a tentative hold on life, and there they are thriving high up, where summers would be so hot and in winter covered in snow.Love the layers, our Geologist/Scientist grandson would be so excited and interested to see that.
