A pair of mountain lions out in daylight

I am always so happy when my trail cams see mountain lions out in daylight. In this case, it was a pair of mountain lions.

You'll see a pair who seem very comfortable with each other. My first guess was a family unit. If you watch closely, you'll be able to see faded spots on the first lion who left the cam's view. That's a sign of a kitten. I think that the other lion was the mother.

Check out the video. I was overjoyed to get this footage!

  4. What great footage of that pair. There was a story on CBS Mornings today about tracking mountain lions in Washington state and, of course, it made me think of you and all your trail cams.

  6. Wow - so great to see two lions together! The youngster has a notch in her right ear - might be handy to ID her if she shows up on camera again.

PS Looks like winter there! First snow of the season here in town, but nothing stuck.

  7. Wow, cold at our minus 10 Celsius, and breathing out in the cold air, what a wonderful pair, a great trailcam capture in the daylight.
