Autumn's Glorious Colors

It is really autumn... a season that I love and dread at the same time. One thing is for sure - the arrival of golden leaves and cooler air fills me with urgency to get out and enjoy the warmth before winter arrives.
We have been doing our favorite autumn activities. Most of it involves being out in the sunshine, enjoying the leaves and wildlife, and feasting our eyes on nature's incredible show of beauty that defines autumn around here.

I adore the autumn colors of a huge aspen grove that I see almost daily. It is currently changing colors, although not all at once. Some leaves are golden, some are reddish, and some are still green. I took a video from above that grove the other day. It's a short video, and I hope that you enjoy it.

Most of all, thanks for the kind words of encouragement about R yesterday. We are already starting to to get used to the idea of R losing his sight (although we are determined to postpone the day of full blindness as long as we can)... and I'm pretty sure that R has been adapting to losing his sight for quite a while. You are right that dogs are incredibly smart and able to cope with big changes!

  2. I saw one very small patch of Autumn leaves on an otherwise green tree. So it has just begun here, and the fall foliage here in New England is suppose to be stunning this year.

  6. Drone views are marvellous, and those colours surely tell the truth, Autumn is with you already. R, he will adapt, and as you say, has been slowly adjusting for a while. You will both deal with this in your own wonderful ways, do not fear, as R is so resilient, he will manage very well.

  7. The first photo was breathtaking but OM word the video. You for sure live in God's Country and what an artist he is.
Animals live in the moment never worry about tomorrow. Your Labraduo are so very fortunate to be loved by you and vice versa.

  8. What beautiful colors! Autumn is my favorite season, but it is always too short. Yesterday was the first day I went out and heard the crunch of the leaves under my feet and smelled that special autumn smell the dry leaves bring. It's been rainy though so we haven't really been able to enjoy it yet. They are promising a beautiful weekend though, and I hope Luke and I can have a nice long walk in the cool air on Sunday, my one day off!

  11. Oh, the colors are just amazing. We still have a lot of green here, but with the cooler temps this week at night, it won't be long. All the best to R and we sure hope the drops keep the glaucoma under control for a good while.
