A year in the life of a bear marking tree

I'm starting to think that I should not even try to post after physical therapy. I'm so tired every time that I make big mistakes. In this case, I posted the wrong video. I have fixed it. Sorry about that!

It's always fun to look back at a full season at a very popular bear marking tree. It's fun to see the big dominant bears, the female bears, and the cubs all interact with it. This one had a lot of visitors last season, and I hope that you enjoy seeing them all leave their scents upon the tree!

Our bears are starting to emerge from their dens so they will soon be marking these trees again. That makes me happy! Check out the video if you have time.

  4. Incredible footage - it's a wonder there is any bark or needles left on that tree. It must feel good, as well as transferring on the bears' scent.

  6. Someone did that little cough at the end, and to see the grasses grow and some flower spikes as summer happened along is truly beautiful, the tree must have some significance to them all, maybe they can scent where the earlier travellers have left their mark. Love the setting on a great trail where passers by stop and visit.
