Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've become even more aware of that this month. In one case, I happened upon a guy with a rifle trying, but failing, to shoot a coyote "just because he was there". In contrast, I adore our coyotes. At this time of year, they show up so often on my trail cameras that I learn to identify the different pack members.
This guy was curious about my camera and came so close that he wasn't in focus.
And, this guy licked his nose as he examined my camera's glowing red LEDs from a distance.
Another part of life that has brought me great delight is that, after months of "limited activity", Shyla can run again. That means that she and her brother can play at full speed. I haven't yet had them out together in good light (to capture good photos). But, yesterday around sunset, they romped maniacally.
Shyla brings out the puppy in R... not that it's ever far from the surface! Look at his eyes!
Then, this morning, it was very cold, windy, and snowing. But, there was a small gap in the clouds exactly where the sun rises. We were treated to a show of falling snow and sunrise light for about 5 minutes.
The whole world looked orange. So very beautiful.
Shyla seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. She sampled the scents in the wind atop a boulder.
Our world is beautiful. We are part of the See Beautiful Blog Hop.
Woof! Woof! We've seen a coyote before and their eyes are beautiful. Sunrise and snow what a combo. We LOVE watching the clouds too and how dramatically changes the weather. Happy This Moment See Beautiful. Golden Thanks for joining our hop. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteKB, You and your pack are beautiful! Love these photos; as I gazed up to the mountains just now, it looks like a beautiful sunset-brillant. I got a walk in before the snow came and let me tell you, it came down hard. It is cold here so imagine it is freezing up where you are. Have a wonderful weekend my friend!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
It is indeed beautiful. All the more so now that Shyla is better. We have lots of coyotes here and I love them too.
ReplyDeleteAs usual it is hard to pick a favorite. But my MOM said her's is the one with R and Shyla running and that beautiful Shyla looking to her big brother. Having a brother/friend to look to is so very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
As usual...not a bad one in the bunch!
ReplyDeletebeautiful indeed.....i love the last picture...

R and Shyla look like they are smiling at each other, as they zip along! I am so glad Shyla can get out at full throttle again with that wild brother of hers! Good for both of them.
ReplyDeleteMy world is beautiful if you like skating rinks! Too icy for me.
Cheers and hugs,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
What a sunrise! So cold here and I suppose there, too. Bundle up when you go out - don't be a fool like I was! Great portrait of Shyla.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you and Shyla and K today when I took Bert for a walk. We were the first on the trail and as we forged through the snow making the first prints on the carpet of white, I was thrilled at the opportunity, I think I may have felt a little of what you feel on your daily rides and hikes. It was a see beautiful day for us too.
ReplyDeleteAnd for next years calander......the last picture is exquisit.
Ann...from....Outer Banks of NC.....said.....It's a beautiful world..... no matter where you are...and especially who you share it with.....makes it so much better.......HUGS
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see both R & Shyla so healthy and happy, and it's good to read that you are recovered from your illness, too. Beautiful pics, as always. Do you & the dogs need to wear orange to help protect you from the troglodytes who shoot coyotes 'for fun' and shoot holes in signs, presumably for the same 'reason'? Be careful out there!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see Shyla and R being able to play together again. The color of the sunrise is amazing.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite as I love them all...but I have to say that the one of them playing is special!! So glad that Shyla can run again!! That last photo is just awesome...looking UP to her older sibling!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!! Have a Happy Weekend! xo Jeanne, Chloe and LadyBug
With running dogs the worlds even more brautiful. What a crass hunter .
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us KB that our planet is "See Beautiful" ALL the time. It may not be from where we are standing at that moment, or what we are doing, but somewhere someone is Seeing Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe love that first picture of R and Shyla. R is peeking towards Shyla and Shyla is looking right at R saying "this is too good to be true!" What a grand time they are having together ~ Yea!!!!!
We've got coyotes here in FL but we've not seen them yet. In fact, we've got lots of big scary things here and are happy we've not seen them. Mommy said if I ever saw an alligator I would probably want to play with it. Alligator + Lily = Not a good thing!
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
Fabulous photos! I love the ones of R and Shyla doing the puppy play.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I FINALLY got over to your blog and added you to my Google Reader. I know I will enjoy getting to know you all. I can see that you "see beautiful" very well.
