Swimming Saturday

Those were the days, my friend. I thought that they'd never end... the ones when the dogs could play in the water every single day!

Both dogs love to get "big air" when they dive into a lake but R is the maestro at it!

It almost seems as if he's trying to fly.

My biggest challenge in photographing him was not letting him leap up and out of my frame! Look at that air!

Shyla's leaping style is much flatter and probably faster

And when she does get some air, she has a distinctive landing style!
I'm sad that swimming is over for this year but there's plenty of winter fun ahead!

  1. We'll be here waiting for the fantastic views of winter.
The views will be different this year with your new photography
toy (drone) I can see it now R and Shyla jumping into snow
instead of a lake. Then we'll wait again for the beautiful days of summer in the Rockies.

  5. I love how they jump. My dogs tip toe in, then stand there for a minute and walk back out.

  6. I am always happy to see them flying through the air with the greatest of ease. makes me smile every time. I saw a couple that survived the big fire in Napa, by spending 6 hours in a neighbors pool that was only four feet deep. the air temp was 55 and they nearly froze in the water, but did surive.

  7. Awesome ... we have no water for our Lab, such a shame as he would so enjoy it!

  8. I wonder if they do a fast run first, or just a standing leap? Graceful, and the landings!!! Snow time will be with you so soon, guess they will love playing in it equally as well.

  9. I love these pictures, so much joy in them. Can't wait to see them play in the snow. It was 24 degrees here this morning, but then it gets warm in the sun.
