Wordless Wednesday - 'Tis the Season

'Tis the season when I love the reddish leaves against the blue sky

'Tis the season when I start to miss the bears' antics (those are claw marks on the trunk)

'Tis the season when I love seeing black fur with a golden background

'Tis the season when snow intermingles with golden leaves

    1. I bet you do miss them! Your photos are one of the big reasons why we want to spend time in Wyoming near the Tetons next summer/fall!

  9. The claw marks on the tree are really neat. We didn't know what they were just looking at the photo.

    1. Many of our trees have bear claw marks. The ones in that photo were probably made a long time ago, and the bark has healed black around them. When a biologist friend pointed out how many trees had claw marks, I started seeing them everywhere!!! :)

  10. Lovely! That claw mark is pretty amazing! I have been taking photos of bark lately. Even in suburban Chicago tree bark is pretty amazing!

    1. I agree - bark is incredible. I love taking closeups of it - it's like abstract art!

  11. And if you don't like it one minute, just wait 5 and it'll change to something more palatable.
