With that in mind, you can perhaps understand how thankful I was to wake up to a surprise of a thick layer of snow on our world.
It was so beautiful. I hopped out of bed for sunrise and captured these photos. To the east...
And to the west... The Continental Divide is on the bald snowy mountains on the horizon. I love the purple hue due to the alpenglow.
From higher in the air but still pointed to the west... more of the Divide was unveiled.
After that early start to the day, Shyla and I headed out into the forest after sunrise, with me pedaling my fat bike. It was glorious! We've barely had the chance to enjoy snow this winter.
I love my riding partner. She can melt me with her eyes.
We are both so thankful for the fun, beauty, and moisture of the snow!

ReplyDeleteWe are being told there's more cold to come... won't be as pretty as this! YAM xx

ReplyDeleteThose are such amazing photos, you even make snow look good! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteI think I see you!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm waving to you :)
DeleteAmazing colors. Interesting you got snow, it’s been all sunshine and clear skies here. This winter has been weird everywhere, not enough snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures of your snowy landscape. We think we spotted the dot that is you near your house.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you could see the dot. It's small, isn't it?
DeleteWhat a beautiful surprise and a great way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds eye view

Still morning air, perfect time to go high for those fantastic photos.Too cold to have your fingers on those controls, I could see you too, super clear lens.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos and what fun to play in the end of April snow!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I'd enjoy snow at this point, but it sure is beautiful! Plus I know how much you need it. I probably would have used that cold and snow as an excuse to hibernate, but I'm not one bit surprised that you got right out there! :)

Purrfectly gorgeous photos but I must admit, I'm thankful that spring is finally showing up. We just finished our fourth winter and The Tribe of Five wants to get out on the upstairs porch in the catio and enjoy the sunshine!

ReplyDeleteThe weather guys keep telling us we are already so far behind on moisture for the year, so little snow, and hot summer on the way. Guess the sprinkler system will be getting a workout.
I'm waving to you too! Glad that you picked me out. I'm almost the only non-white object in the photo which is probably helpful! Waves to you!
DeleteYes it is important to get all that winter snow. What a beautiful place to live.
ReplyDeleteShyla is beautiful.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
Great photos. I enjoyed the perspective from above. It was a beautiful morning.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got the snow. I hope it help out
ReplyDeleteEven when we got 17 inches of new snow ten days ago, we all loved it. We are snow lovers and in some ways it is sad it is already gone. Yours looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI saw you!!!! (though, I kinda figured it would be near your house...is that cheating??? ☺)
ReplyDeleteOMD, that looks so beautiful!!! I am so jealous! It was 82 the other day, and I am just not ready for Summer...at ALL!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
That's not cheating. It's using your brains, Ruby, and we all know how smart you are!
DeleteSuch wonderful photos! Glad you got more snow. Although we did not get as much snow in the valleys as we did last year I think the snow pack in the mountains was close to normal. We have enjoyed beautiful spring weather this week!

Yes the heart in the grass was totally accidental. In fact it was plain to see looking out our back window but outside from a different angle it was different, like it was meant just for us to see
I'm late but I think I spotted you by the house. Such a tiny dot. So pleased you had some snow again. Yay that you both got to enjoy the day in the snow.
