Mom went directly to exactly the same patch of grass where she went last time. Last time, I thought (probably wrongly) that she was licking water from the grass. This time, it was clear that you all were right that she was eating the grass. It must be tasty!
Suddenly, mom was alert to something beyond our view. The bigger kitten seemed to have heard it earlier than she did, and he had sprinted away.
It turned out to be something MUCH bigger than them - a moose! The bobcats acted very scared and disappeared in a hurry.

That mom and her kittens were smart to run when they did. That is one BIG moose!
ReplyDeletethey are so adorable, I love the markings on their faces, but love even more the markings on the back of their ears. they sure could move quickly when that big moose came around... I would be running also

Wow, that is one huge moose! Incredible video. I can only imagine how frightening it must be to the small cats.

ReplyDeleteWow, this is the most amazing video,and they can hear a noise so far away. No wonder they leapt off in such a hurry, and I thought I heard the moose give a tiny grunt. Again, thank you heaps for sharing your wild life with us.
