Few Words Wednesday

It snowed again, leading to a silent and beautiful early morning.

But then, as Shyla and lingered in a high meadow, we saw this. The wind was starting.

And soon, our world was like this. We could barely stand up straight in the wind.
Winter is beautiful but brutal high in our mountains.

  4. It's almost snowing again as the wind blows the snow off the trees. What a beautiful and brutal day all in one.

  5. We are having a very breezy day here too, Shyla, but we don't have the beautiful snow that you have.

  9. We've had brutal winds and squalls, too. It's about the only thing that keeps us inside! Shyla seems oblivious to it.

  11. We have very high winds too, cold nights and spring-like days. Almost no precipitation since our epic snow after Christmas.

I watched your bear video and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen a bear around here since about 2012. I'm also missing many other animals that used to come by. The effect of the dry weather is both sad and scary.

  13. That could be frightening I would think with the snow blowing so hard. It must make it difficult to see where you're going.

  16. It must be very hard to see where you are going in that. You wrote this post, so I am assured you made it home safely. That first picture is amazing.

  17. The wind has been brutal lately. I know it's part of nature to transmit seeds etc. but could sure use a little less of it right now.
