Good day and funny bear!

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments yesterday. Your support makes such a big difference to me. K has had a good day. I am so thankful.

We had a wonderful, lazy, happy, and fun morning walk together. She stood next to a Ponderosa Pine Tree that smelled like vanilla in the warm sunshine.
And, our sunset hikes continue. This was a smoky sunset, rendering K's fur deep red. We sit and watch the sun set and the graceful flights of a pair of night hawks who emerge every evening at sunset. They call back and forth as they swoop through the air capturing bugs.
Our sunset tradition is a peaceful ending to each day that we get to spend with K.

No doubt - this will be an undulating path, with good and bad days interspersed. I'm just thankful that today was GOOD!

I also am compiling some bear footage for you. My video isn't quite ready but here are two photos of a funny male bear who was rubbing his back on a whammy tree, and then he grabbed the top of the tree to rub it all over his shoulders. That tree must really smell like that bear!

These photos were from almost the same time when K sent the cinnamon bear running toward this tree. I wonder what happened when the two bears were in close proximity? I have a small clue that I'll show you tomorrow.

Here's to the good days and the support of all of you!

  7. That second pic of K and the last one in your former post speak volumes about her terrific strength of spirit. I've been off the computer for awhile enjoying spring, but I've been thinking about you. Great - funny! - bear pics. I haven't encountered any yet, but a neighbor saw a small one by her house this week. Take Care!

  12. I'm glad that K is feeling better. I know the ups and downs are hard and draining. The bear is pretty cute pulling the tree around himself.

  21. Well, that bear at the whammy tree seems really, ahem, happy, so perhaps he and the cinnamon bear made some kind of love connection.

I'm glad K had a better day yesterday, and you, too! It's really hard not to get wrapped up in emotions when the days vacillate between good and bad. Those good days are really good for getting yourself grounded again, though. :)
