We had only one rainy day on our high trip, and it was the first day. It rained almost all day, and mice somehow found their way into our LabMobile to escape the cold deluge. I have an utterly irrational terror of mice in closed spaces, like our LabMobile.
However, a mouse prompted me to see a double rainbow. He suddenly scurried out from under a cabinet door toward me. I screamed and ran out of the LabMobile in my socks (on the wet ground). I was met by this sight!
I was more than happy to stay outside to watch the rainbows evolve.
It was sunset, and the sky quickly got darker but the rainbows persisted. As I contemplated the double rainbow, I remembered that we'd visited this campsite less than a month after K died in 2012. On that visit, I spent time every day gazing at this peak and crying for my lost girl. It seemed fitting to see this incredible double rainbow over that same peak. It's also stunning how so many parts of my world are still defined by their relation to Angel K.
As an aside, we eventually caught the mice using a live trap, and we took them for a long walk away from our LabMobile before releasing them.
WOW, that is amazing!

That is beautiful! About 2 weeks ago we saw the most brilliant rainbow I ever saw and I didn't have a camera - rats! Oh, you are nicer to mice than I am.

Those rainbow shots are absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rainbows and amazing photos of them!!! It is not surprising that the love you shared with K shows up in some beautiful ways all around your beautiful world.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought upon see in your beautiful photos was of K and Gizmo who were diagnosed with osteo very near each other.
ReplyDeleteI feel the rainbow is a gift from K to you.
ReplyDeleteShe is saying, Don't worry mom here's a rainbow to cheer you up.

Beautiful! Well, if you have to see a mouse, I guess seeing one which then leads you to such natural beauty is the best way to do it! :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. And maybe even more so that you caught and set your visitor free.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Michelle
mice, I have a fearful dread of tem, and rats, if I see one, even at a distance, I am terrified. Rainbows are so beautiful, and you captured this one in all its glory.
ReplyDeleteGlorious rainbow pictures, just beautiful!

K's life and your life were entwined with each other,,, making you one.
ReplyDeleteAnd now Shyla has entwined herself too. I think K sent you the rainbow to remind you of that.
The rainbow is spectacular,,,
And were glad you caught mousy and let it go.

That's a beautiful photo. And I too, thought the same thing - that you make a lot of spiritual - in a way - comments relating to K. Were you always that kind of person, or was it since K?
ReplyDeleteMountain lions....bears....moose..bobcats....and a mouse gets that reaction?!
ReplyDeleteyou caught the perfect moment with your cam BRAVO!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI hate mice!!! They always make me nervous for some reason.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful rainbows! I always think of my son when I see one.
Spectacular shots! What a great way to remember Angel K, too.
ReplyDeleteWow those shots are simply stunning. Well done to the mouse in getting you outside in your socks on the wet ground to capture that sight. Amazing.

Mice don't bother me so much but I don't think I would like to be in a vehicle with one scurrying around. Lovely rainbow and memories of K.
ReplyDeleteI was just talking to Jim about K the other day and look a mouse hops into your world to remind you how sweet K was. Double rainbows must mean good luck and if they don't, well they do in our world!
ReplyDeleteCheers now be careful with that mouse behind you!
Ron
Wow - just wow!
