Happy Full Moon Weekend

I love when we have a full moon. Photographing it has long been an obsession of mine. It's so beautiful when it rises.
The light of a full moon lets us go for mini-adventures after sunset. Some friends went for a full moon bike ride with us last evening. Fortunately, although I can't hike (our usual full moon activity), I can still pedal a bike!

This silhouette of Shyla reminds me of a wolf howling at a full moon.
I haven't noticed whether our coyotes howl more during full moons. However, I have always wondered if the bright moonlight affects a mountain lion's ability to sneak up on prey. I don't know whether it does but it's an interesting effect of moonlight to contemplate.

Happy Full Moon!

    1. I hope that the skies clear soon! It is always a bit of a downer to have clouds for so long.

  3. You and me both on the moon obsession. I'm glad you had clear skies. I friend asked me take photos of the moon for her, because they were socked in with snow.

  5. each night this week we have stared at how BIG the moon was and the brightness was like a big flashlight looking down on us from heaven. lit up the back yard so bright we could see sand on the deck. i would think that kind of brightness would effect those big beautiful cats... love the silhouette
