See Beautiful

Today is See Beautiful Friday, and I love participating every month. Although I am feeling discouraged about some things today, when I stopped to think about a "See Beautiful" post, I smiled about how much beauty I've seen in the past month.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing was observing a coyote near my house, and using a lens loaned to me by a very generous friend to photograph the wild canine. I have, unfortunately, run across a number of places on the web where slaughtering coyotes is glorified. It horrifies me because coyotes are intelligent and sentient beings. They live in packs that are tightly bonded and work together toward raising pups and surviving the year. Senselessly murdering them is unthinkable to me. Look at the intelligence in this coyote's eyes and the stunning beauty of his face.
During this month, I've also seen my "puppy", Shyla, blossom as we've started more intensive training.
As our bond grows with each day, she becomes more beautiful to me.
Last, but certainly not least, nature has painted some glorious pictures for us this month. They are breathtakingly beautiful.
How can I walk through a day without smiling when this beauty is all around me?
Seeing Beautiful is a state of mind, in my opinion. It takes a conscious effort but it helps me to appreciate the gift of each day on Earth.

  2. The human mind is very hard to understand sometimes. If it werent for beautiful souls like you and other friends that give us hope, we would have a hard time facing our days.

  7. I agree with you about the coyotes. I followed a girl on Instagram who had many photos from Coyote hunting and it made me physically ill.... I had to unfollow her. My parents have them a lot at their place, they are always very mindful when we are riding in their habitat.

    Those skies are breathtaking.

  15. Beautiful pictures and I think you summed it up beautifully as well. I agree that it does take a conscious effort to see beautiful, but it is worth it! The same as being positive or focusing more on the positive. However, the more you make the effort to see beautiful and see/be positive, the easier it becomes!

  16. Hi KB, thanks for the beautiful photos. The coyote is amazing. I don't know much about these animals but why would anyone want to glorify killing them? Thanks again for sharing your photos. I always get great joy from them. No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)

  17. It is a great reminder that we need to see beautiful more. It is so easy to get caught up in the negative or the daily we can lose track of the beautiful. Have a good weekend.

  21. Hi Y'all,

What amazing beauty graces your days...

That is an amazing coyote photo. It is a shame that people find it necessary to kill them. However, I do understand. When I was small we had a difficult time with wild dogs killing our calves and even tearing cow's udders. A humane group set up a trap, but the dog it caught broke out of the trap completely destroying it. New, heavier traps were set, but the dogs were wise to them and avoided them. They bred and neighbors started loosing calves and sheep. Finally. our overseer, who liked to bear hunt on his vacations, hunted them down.

It's fine if the coyotes are in areas of plentiful wild game for hunting. In our eastern mountains here in the east the coyotes are invading and killing sheep, peoples pets and chickens. So far I haven't heard of anyone killing the coyotes, but the farmers and families whose pets have been killed are understandably upset.
