Soon after our first big snow of the year, a mother led her two kittens past a scent post. They lingered in front of the camera but looked far more serious about life than before winter arrived.
Mom appeared first. She looks strong but not huge.
Close behind her, two kittens appeared. There was no frolicking or play - all three of them seemed serious.
As they passed my cam, the kittens paused.
The second one sniffed the air as he paused. Soon, he followed his family.
I believe that these are the same kittens who we saw at this same site almost exactly a month earlier.
I adore seeing our mountain lions! Check out the short video if you have time. Seeing daytime footage of our lions is always a treat.
they are wonderful... love how the mama is always on duty ...bet her ears work super fabulous to notice even a mouse far away ;O)
ReplyDeleteLove those SuperLong tails and their fur is such a beautiful color. I would love to run my fingers through their fur and feel the thick softness.
ReplyDeleteOH my CATS!!! KB the photos are amazing BUT the video...the selfies and seeing them so closely.
ReplyDeleteI love the dark patches on their cheeks.

What amazing footage of such elusive creatures. Thanks for all the time you put into your many trail cams.
ReplyDeleteDaylight colours, outstanding, you share so much of the trail cams, and give us views into a world so apart from our own .This was not a time for them to frolic and play, serious faces and stances as they moved on.
ReplyDeleteThese are big felines. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day and weekend. Scritches to the pups. ♥
My favorite type of Feline Friday!
ReplyDeleteThey do look nice and fat for the coming winter.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cats. I'm sure life is hard for the mom with two kids to feed in the winter.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful little family! They are probably not impressed with all that snow. :)
