It's All Fun and Games

To help me laugh more despite the serious stuff of life that has taken hold of me, Shyla and I have been playing lots of funny games during our morning outings.

She's become very good at the game where I toss a treat (in the foreground and out of focus) and then photograph her trying to snarf it. You can see her focus...

This was less than a second later as she started to open her mouth...
She snarfed it... but somehow my silly camera missed that instant.

Shyla has trouble when my aim is off, like in this one. I love how the treat is in focus but Shyla is not. Her eyes are tracking the treat but it's not close enough to her.

By far, her favorite game is the nose balance game. She gets very serious during the balancing part.
When she flips the treats into the air, somehow she picks out one to focus on. She snarfs that one and picks up the rest from the ground.

The instant after she flipped the treats into the air...

As she snarfed one of them, she knocked the others off their trajectories so they scattered far and wide.
We have such fun on our morning outings - whether we run a lot or play a lot - we both come home happy and tired.

    thank you for my morning laugh out loud. i love them ALL. my favorite is the focus on the treat and her look in the back ground. she is amazing as are your photos of her being amazing.

    Nose balance, how long was it before you both did this fun game? I cannot remember when Shyla started to do that, she is so serious when staring at one treat. Total concentration.

    Oh, Shyla, you are very patient to sit with those treats on your snooter:) The three silly Sibes here wouldn't last a second. It looks like you almost caught two treats in that photo!!!

    If you are into photography and dogs, it is a great way to relieve stress. Mom often takes silly photos of me in the car at nose work trials. It is a normal behavior for us and relieves tension.
