Tomorrow will be the full moon. I first had the idea to try to photograph it setting over the mountains more than four years go. By chance, I was out when it was setting and had a long lens with me. It was November 2016.
Over the past year, I've tried to photograph it every month. Sometimes, circumstances like clouds get in the way.
We'll see what happens on this full moon. I sure do have a better idea of how to get a good photo after all my practice. But will Mother Nature cooperate?
I am so thankful for fun pursuits like this one. They keep life light and fun even if they do make me wake up and ride my bike to a viewpoint in the dark!
oh we will try to take a moon photo... by now all our tries ended as a "mooning" lol
ReplyDeleteI so agree about being grateful for fun pursuits. This morning I've been out with Bertie trying to take the perfect picture of the cherry blossom which is beautifying the city right now. Clear skies today here, so full moon photos should be possible too.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.

ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, back in the Hutch (yay!) though I arrived in glorious sunshine yesterday, today has dawned cold, wet, windy and foggy. The moon last night was beyond beautiful, but I held off shooting it, cuz I thought today is the official full - and now I am the fool, cuz there WILL be cloud. Sigh... YAM xx
Such a beautiful photo and I have no doubt that you will ace it tonight, KB!
ReplyDeletethis am at 4, the moon was HUGE! it was hanging just above the trees and we could see the whole back yard in the dark, this moon for the past few days has been like a flood light in the yard. I am thankful I am able to SEE it
ReplyDeleteWe are keeping our paws crossed that you will get that shot.
ReplyDeleteI was gazing at the moon last night. It was so huge and beautiful. I love your photography and hope to see an amazing shot of the full moon soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to the pups. ♥
While I hope you get your shot, just riding your bike in the dark to get there sounds like a wonderful adventure in itself. Of course there are all kinds of critters out there, big and small, in the dark. I admire your fearless spirit.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always most wonderful and we hope you get to capture the moment again! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteKB 2016 photo is truly breathtaking...should you get a better one this gabby Southern Belle might be rendered speechless.

Looking forward to seeing it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent photo! Please keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot...I saw the moon looked beautiful last night. Good luck getting "the shot"!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe moon was full and bright this morning on our early morning walk....but can't compare to your photo!
ReplyDeleteI love coming to your blog and seeing your pictures. You are much braver than I am, going out to get gorgeous pictures with the large cats you have in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteThe moon is pretty full and in other forms too depending on the light and sky at the time. Unfortunately, no photos of it as we are usually sleeping and Mom doesn't have the patience to figure out how to do it right.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous picture. And you are a die-hard. No way would I do what you do. I guess I'm "soft." Can't wait to see if you got a good picture this month.
ReplyDeleteKeeping our paws crossed you'll be able to capture it nicely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Good luck with the next one!
