Flower Friday

The wildflower season has been fabulous this year. You can see the beautiful meadow full of yellow flowers and irises that Shyla ran through earlier this summer.

The Blue Flag Irises bloom for a very short time every year, and the insects love them!

Look at the pollen covering the ladybug!

I feel lucky that Shyla and I have places where we can frolic among the Irises every year!
Happy Flower Friday!

  1. Superb macro, the pollen, what a load on their backs. Love Shyla in the field of flowers. Hope the smokey smell and ash deposit has gone by now.

  3. What glorious meadows you and the pups have to romp (and roll) in! I'm glad you're getting out and about.
This morning was the first time since Monday I haven't had a constant headache, so I planned to take Piper to the woods right after morning chores. But even then it was already way too hot and dreadfully humid...our brief, clear-air respite seems to be over for now. Piper doesn't even mind staying inside - in fact, when I invited her out a little while ago to check water buckets with me, she gave me the "thanks but no thanks!" look and dropped her head right back down on her pillow!
