Playing in the flowers

It's been an amazing year for wildflowers. I can't get enough of them.

With the flowers, the bees have been abundant. Somehow, I've managed to get stung by bees four times so far this summer. In one case, a bee landed on my lip as I rode my bike and stung me before I I could brush him off. Fortunately, I'm not allergic to bee stings but they do hurt.

I'm glad that the flowers and the bees are doing so well. Sometimes, it feels as if Shyla and I are navigating a jungle of flowers.
I love it!

  7. You and Shyla sure are having a wonderful summer!
Sorry about your beesting - ouch. My place has loads of bees this year, so I'm hoping they'll do as much pollinating of the vegetables as they are doing of the flowers. I've got bee balm and hyssop as tall as I am, and when I'm working right next to it every day I sometimes wonder if I'll get stung just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fingers crossed I won't - as you say, it hurts a lot.
Any sign of that little sad bear, KB?

  16. I'm glad the bees are going strong somewhere - though I'm very sorry to hear they seem to mistake you for a threat! Thanks for sharing the lovely flowers.
