Sweet Shyla on Saturday

Every single morning, my alarm goes off at 6AM. The reason is that Shyla has epilepsy, as many of you probably remember. She gets five pills every day, spread out throughout the day, to control her seizures. The first one is at 6AM.  I shuffle to her pill box, grab the pink football shaped pill, and give it to her.

Then comes the nice part. I almost never stay out of bed because Shyla loves to snuggle. She moves next to me, puts her head on my shoulder, and lets out a contented sigh. Who could possibly get out of bed with Shyla softly resting her head on you? She is so sweet.

The snuggling is a good part of Shyla's pill regime. Another good part is she has averaged only one seizure per year since starting the medications. That's not just good - it's great.
What a sweet girl.

  1. This is wonderful news! Mom wishes that I would snuggle with her more but it pretty much only happens doing fireworks and thunderstorms and it's always on her lap - never in bed with her. Love your happy photos, Shyla!

  2. It's clear she enjoys that snuggle as much as you do. Very sweet!

Nothing beats that early morning pupster-huggle... YAM xx

  4. she is sweet and gentle and so beautiful to look at.. happy snuggling. good for her and for you

  5. so happy the meds are working

  6. That IS great! We're coming up on 9 months seizure free (knock on wood) with only 2 in the past 16 months. I think the CBD is working well!

    1. That is good news. Down here on a local NZ made soap opera program, a young girl started to get seizures after a head injury. Finally she was started, at first undercover, then legally on a CBD product and it worked. So good you can have this and control those events and life is back to almost normal again.

  7. We're so happy those seizures are controlled so well for sweet beautiful Shyla!

  8. That is so good to hear how well Shyla is doing with the absence of seizures. We hope the meds continue to work their magic.

  9. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Shyla bless your sweet girly heart. I'm smiling at the mental image.
I'm also very thankful your have found the perfect dosage to control the seizures!!.
    Hugs Cecilia

  10. So glad the meds are working and that they no longer affect her. I'm glad she is there to give you some extra snuggles just now with so much on your mind.

  11. An early start, in winter still very dark but summertime daylight gives you that time to snuggle, and wonderful news that the pills are doing the trick. Shyla shines with happiness.XXX

  12. A lovely morning ritual. Glad the tablets are helping her.

  13. It's great to hear Shyla is doing so well with her medication. We love to snuggle with our pawrents early in the morning too.

  14. That is good news that Shyla is doing so well!! HIlda is a morning snuggler and mom loves it
