Some days, I am forced to admit that I have too many things to do for the number of hours in the day. Today is one of those days.
I have been overwhelmed with the number of extraordinary wildlife stories nearby. I'd love to make a video today but I don't have the time to digest the wildlife video footage and then synthesize it.
So, I'll share a scene that sums up summer for me.
And, I'll end by saying that, by the time you read this, the weather forecasters say that there will be snow on the ground. Let's hope that the summer blossoms and the baby birds are hardy enough to keep flourishing through a snow storm.
Nature seems cruel sometimes but I guess it knows what it is doing - plants grow again, birds nest again. But I do hope the snow is not too heavy and most things will survive.
ReplyDeleteSnow in June! We are supposed to have a hot humid day tomorrow. You can send the snow here☺ We'll take it!

ReplyDeleteOh no, snow! Hope it doesn't last very long.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a snowstorm at this time. Wow. I too hope everything survives just fine. A beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. Scritches to the pups. ♥
Wow - is that a yellow Gaillardia? Ours have mahogany and yellow petals. Yours is spectacular! (And while I'm on plant ID, was that Golden Banner surrounding beautiful R in your Black Dog Sunday post?
ReplyDeleteHope the snow melts quickly!
Cheers,
Chris from Boise
Hi Chris! I had to look up the flower in my photo. It's commonly called a "Blanket Flower". It's a wildflower here, and it is genus Gaillardia! I learned something. :) And yes, the previous flowers were Golden Banner. They are in full bloom here now!
DeleteToo much wonderful wildlife. There are worse problems to have!
ReplyDeleteVideos, editing, ditto to all the photos, and putting it all together for a blog post takes a lot of time and thought, the flowers today signify golden days ahead, down here the weekend weather is predicted to be about -10 to -15 in the South Island, maybe even lower, treacherous road conditions, I hope your snow is a sprinkle of fairy dust.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, a snow day and all of those beautiful flowers around.
ReplyDeletePretty flowers. We heard on TV that there was some snow in CO yesterday. It melts fast this time of year.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers. I can hardly imagine having it snow this time of year. We had a high of 91 degrees today.
ReplyDeleteHope they are wrong about the snow.
ReplyDeleteWe know Enzo got snow. We hope you didn't.
ReplyDeleteI saw the snow on the teevee news! Ma was all jealous, butts I said that it was time that you guys got some warm summer weathers! I gots my paws crossed for the baby burdies
