Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for the gifts of Nature that I've seen this week.

The flowers are starting to bloom. I love seeing them along the trail to the mountains, like I did during a long mountain bike ride a few days ago. I love sights like this so much!

As I rode that mountain trail, I saw a hawk land on top of a tree. I stopped to watch him, and he took off to fly again. He was stunning!

Then, during last evening's hike, Hachi stared pointedly into the meadow. At first, we thought it was a false alarm. Then, the Runner spotted this velvet-antlered beauty resting in the green grass.

He was breath-taking.
Spring's bounty brings us so many things to be thankful for!

  2. It was on my wish-list to see an alpine meadow in flower, with wild flowers blooming and mountain snow in the background. I got my wish the day we drove over Independence Pass, it was a magnificent sight. How wonderful that you can enjoy that sort of thing in your daily life - definitely something to be thankful for :)

  17. Great shots of the hawk in flight! We know that if the dogs tell us something (or someone) is out there they are always right. How nice of Hachi to point your way to the elk.
