The Hachi Chronicle

Last evening followed the usual puppy pattern. After an evening hike, Hachi was an insanely playful puppy. He has lots of toys but an old shoe was his favorite for the evening.

The shoe is almost as big as him!

We played tug with the shoe!

Eventually, he crashed. He chose to snuggle with his big brother, and R didn't mind at all!

Then, purely by her own choice, Shyla joined them.

After the Big Dogs moved for some reason, sweet Hachi fell asleep while gazing toward us humans. The camera woke him up. His eyes were wide open for one photo.

And then he sunk downward and his eyes began to close.
I think that our whole pack is smitten with him. Shyla is now playing with him a lot, which is SO wonderful to see. She's learned to play more gently so that he can compete in a game of tug or chase.

Puppy love!

  2. So wonderful! Shyla has exactly what she needs now - an older brother to help her feel protected and secure, and a younger one to help her feel like SHE is the protector and teach her confidence :)

  3. We are enjoying all these Hatchi pictures. That way we get to enjoy his cuteness without all the work of having a puppy of our own.

  7. A heated pillow? I must have missed that somewhere. When Boris arrived, he was SO tiny, I put a covered hot water bottle under his blanket, or used an elephant style pack that can be heated in the microwave. R is showing how loving and gentle he really is, and for Shyla, a smaller boy to teach all sorts of fun things to do together, You have the most wonderful threesome. p.s.I know down here you can get special cat hotties ( no water inside, just gel?)that can be heated in the microwave and stay warm for hours. Some catteries use them.

    1. Thank you! We actually have a disk that can be microwaved and Hachi sleeps on it at night. We got it many years ago when Angel K was a puppy - and then R used it when he was a puppy. I'm so happy to have another puppy using it!!!!!

  16. OMD, Hachi, you get to play with SHOES?! I got a hold of one last night when Momma wasn't looking, but she noticed and gave me the dreaded DROP IT. No fun!
